HALO: RECON
GOAL
to write and compile all levels of Halo 3: ODST into a complete novelisation, involving authors from across the Halo community, you.
INSTRUCTIONS
Choose one section of Halo 3: ODST to adapt into a written chapter. (See CHAPTERS.) Upload it, and share the project. If you wish, write another!
RULES
LANGUAGE
Write in English. Any variation of English is fine (UK, Australian, Canadian, etc.) as long as it can be understood by English speakers.
CHAPTER LIMIT
Write one or two chapters (no more than two chapters per author).
MOMBASA STREETS
Each section of Mombasa Streets counts as a separate chapter.

AUDIO LOGS
If you are writing a Mombasa Streets section, you are encouraged to adapt audio logs from Sadie’s Story. You must comment (below the File Share) the exact audio logs you intend to cover.
Check the comments to see which audio logs have been taken by other authors. You don't need to frame the audio logs in the same way as other authors, but it's worth considering.
POINT OF VIEW
Please write in third-person perspective (he, his, she, her, they, their), not in first- (I, my) or second-person (you, your).
TENSE
Write consistently in past tense (with logical exceptions).
STYLE
Write in whatever style suits you. Your voice is your own!
WORD COUNT
As a guide, aim to write between 2000 and 3000 words. (If you feel strongly about going under or over, that's acceptable, but I would advise discussing it in the comments first.) Ultimately, it's up to you.
CHAPTER HEADING
Name your chapter as you wish. It does not need to be the name of your chosen level unless you want it to be. (The level title will be part of the file name.)
FILE NAME
Name your file after your level and your personal name / pen name.
e.g. 3_Tayari_Plaza_by_Ben_Down
UPLOAD
Find your chapter folder within the Halo: Recon folder. Upload as many times as you see fit. (I recommend sticking with one or two drafts before submitting a final good-copy.)
SHARE
After uploading your first draft, share the project either publicly or privately with people likely to contribute. The more hands on deck, the better!
